Our research answers the call for empirical validation of precursors of insider threats 9 by providing evidence of the relationship between specific personality traits and cyber sabotage. Numerous frameworks, guidelines and awareness campaigns include personal characteristics, which demonstrates the importance of personality in cyber security risk management.
